What do we think of the Trollsta tray side table from Ikea? I’ve been on the (casual) hunt for a couple of years now for new side tables for the livings room. This is honestly the first one that I’ve come across that I like that doesn’t cost $600.
I like that it is round (everything seems to be square in my living room) and I like that I couldn’t pile magazines underneath it. The solid birch turned/spindle legs are eye-catching and unique. But I would need a flat surface for the top: tray tables are not meant to have lamps and design books on top of them. Marble topper, maybe? I know a good marble guy. But that could drive up the cost and then maybe I’m back at $600 and hunting all over again…

Ikea hack I’ve seen in a very long time. I have wee pangs of jealously inside, mostly because of the space required for said hack, also she has a really nice salon style wall going on. (And maybe I’m just jealous because I didn’t think of it first!)

First off: Can I just say I love IKEA? The new catalogue came on Friday and it was such a lovely surprise in my mail box. Like the geek I am, I poured over it in bed late that night, and devoured it completely.
Of course there were many many things that those crafty Swedes came up with that I found to be wonderful, but my favorite, my absolute favorite was this:

It is worth it, to go to IKEA, just to get these. That’s right. You heard me. Just to pick up these.
