Confession:

I wore pale pink capris 3 out of the past 7 days.  That is 42.85% of the time.  One would think I hate to iron.  ( I don’t)   I’m just in a pale pink capri mood.

While the above photo is not of pale pink capris*, I perhaps offer you something better: my favorite cut in a color called “neon rose”.  It’s a peachy terracotta with rose undertones. While it looks like a complicated color, it’s a neutral in a bright, pop-colored costume: you basically can’t go wrong.

Don’t you love it when you can’t go wrong???

Café Capri in Neon Rose, $89.50, by J.Crew.

*I dare you to peek at what a Google shopping search for pink capris looks like.  Scary.

Chaussures de la semaine…

I am in a mood as of late.  Not a fowl mood or anything, but just a mood.  I need some whimsy in my life.  Some sparkle.  Some dash.  (No, not that DASH)

I’m a big devotee of “create your own”.  Not like some DIY thing, but more like create your own energy, motion, love.  But I just can’t seem to get the ball rolling.  No sparks flying, no glittery grinning ear to ear moments. I’m just a big ball of blah…

Temporary, I hope.

In the mean time,  sparkly loafers will have to do.  One cannot mope with this much glitter around their toes…

Coveted…

Quick! Pop geography quiz:  Miami is…

A. The capital of nowhere

B.  The capital of South America

C. The capital of Florida

(jeopardy music playing softly in the background)

If you answered B, Congratulations, you are correct!  You must live, or have lived in Miami at some point (or at the very least, visit frequently).

Onto our post:

Too early…

My amaryllis are blooming again.  Yesterday I ate six perfect blueberries right off the bush.  The banana trees are about to go, well, bananas.  And in about two months time it will be so hot here, in steamy, tropical Miami that my husband/co-workers/friends will have to carry me around in a bucket.  (as I melt, just like ice-cream)

Yet, Fall 2011 is staring me in the face, and it is rather tempting.  Perhaps I will survive summer by thinking myself cool.  I will dream of crisp leaves, prickled rosy cheeks and brisk winds that sweep around corners of building and my bare, scarf-free neck.  Soft wool sweaters, long luscious skirts and crisp trousers in cool neutrals will send chills down my spine.

I will probably still melt like ice-cream, but a girl can hope, no?

P.S. Do you see those outfits in the shade of the perfect color yellow?  Swoon!

Back and better than ever…

My favorite pant.  In my favorite color.  Why is she so crazy about this color, you might ask?  Well, because EVERYTHING goes with it. EVERYTHING!

Red? Yes.  Pink? Yes.  Green? Yes.  Orange? Yes. Navy? Yes. And black, well, that is especially chic.  Yes, yes, yes!  What’s that?  Oh, yeah…you have a bag or a pair of shoes that color in your closet and you love how they go with everything?  Well then, get the pants.  You can thank me later…

P.S.  Please note how in the poorly cropped picture you see only two un-cropped words?  Perfect and Classic: ‘nuff said…

So many pretty things…

so little time.  I’m so busy today my head is spinning.  But I do have just enough time to share some perfection with you.  Ballet pink open-work sweater with a citrus lemon skirt and some killer peep-toe booties.  Swoon!

Hope you’re having a lovely Monday…

On the brain…

A perfect symphony of soft cotton/linen, graphic stripes and baseball-ish cut.  I’m smitten and my ideal outfit would be capris, ballet flats and my favorite (for the moment) spring bag.  A lazy day alternative would be super faded denim, flips, a messy bun and big sunglasses.  $39.50 can bring a lot of smiles into my wardrobe…
