Let’s Discuss:

  • Difficult denim to pull off, but she does it with aplomb.  The cuffs are wide, divine. Almost Annie Hall-esque, but modern.
  • Prim cream button up, buttoned all the way up.  One might be temped to leave a button or two undone, but she refrained.
  • If you look closely, the jacket not just brown, but a beautiful glen plaid.  Shoulders are slightly big, length a little long.  Borrowed from a boyfriend, perhaps?
  • Hair lighter on the bottom - makes me think of long summers in the sun, not a bottle of dye.
  • The visual definition of gamine?

the opposite of upbraiding…

Potholes in Paris are filled with lovely pools of braided yarn by artist Juliana Santacruz Herrera.  Such a gorgeous, playful way to embrace and play with the realities of city life.

P.S. Proof that almost everything is better in French:

Nid de Poule = Pot hole

Nid = Nest

Poule = Hen

Nid de Poule literally translated = chicken’s nest

French is just the best…

Château de cartes…

I cannot help but be smitten.  Paris city map playing cards by the ever-clever MUJI.   London, Tokyo, and NYC are available too, but I will always, always prefer Paris.

Vivre dans les films…

My favorite column over at Design*Sponge is Amy Merrick’s ”Living In”, and well, they do just that: go over amazing, classic, killer movies and find what it would take for you to “live in” the film.  This weeks is Breathless and Jean-Luc Godard’s Paris is brought to life and is as chic as ever.  Check out previous “Living In” columns here

Le weekend…

Cool weather hit Miami last night.  The Man and I hit the town and I wore a sweater dress and stockings and my favorite knit jacket and I needed more.

I wish it would stay cool forever. In Miami winter has this certain look: the sunlight is golden and slanted, filtering through palm leaves and the breeze is a delicious bonus as opposed to a necessity.  Acorns crunch underfoot and petite parrots eat palm nuts and squak.  You almost feel like you are somewhere else.

Not quite Paris, but definitely someplace wonderful…

Have a great weekend everyone!
