We’re still dabbling in cooler weather here in Florida.  What I would give for a fireplace!  (that vase with the proteas is pretty swell too, while we’re at it)

Trying to remember vacation…

I wanted to title this post “The life has been sucked out of me”, but that’s not charming.  But really, that’s what’s going on. Shouldn’t I be all relaxed from my fabulous Vegas/L.A./Big Sur trip?  Let me tell you, that glow was gone a long long time ago.

I have not had dinner with The Man in over a week.

I cannot remember the last time I went to the grocery store and it wasn’t ten at night.

My friend’s mother died last week and couldn’t even sit shiva.

This is all very sad.  To quote the great song-writer Johnny Mercer: “Something’s Gotta Give”

Two more days and I have a long weekend in Atlanta.  I think I can make it.  And going forward, it’s about being vocal and changing things for the better.  (For the both the job and me)

Fun side note on the photo: Bougainvilleas on the way to Whole Foods on Rose and Lincoln (best Whole Foods EVER!) in L.A. where this video was shot.  Funny funny stuff.

It’s official…

I need an angel trumpet tree in my life. Stat.

Sweet fragrance, towering flowers…one can’t go wrong.

They even grow in cooler climates: my Mum had the most gorgeous one in Portland, Or.

There is no excuse. Run out and get one.

They are wilting and fading - as flowers are wont to do - but they still smell magnificent!
Perhaps a scratch’n’sniff tumblr function is in order?
