Time is running out! Card rack ransacked at your local walgreens? Send an e-valentine courtesy of kate spade.
(But don’t forget, nothing beats hand picked flowers and a smootch!)
P.S. Check out the N.P.R. Valentines too!

Kate and Andy Spade at home in this month’s Matchbook Magazine. Beautiful interview, gorgeous photos, and I’m only too happy to report: they’ve come up with an idea and registered a trademark for their next collaboration! Triple swoon!
What (and when) will the next Kate Spade be?

I promise, I’m wearing a sweater and tights to work today. I promise that I won’t talk too much about spring. I promise, I get it: it’s still October.
But oh, I had to had to had to post this picture from kate spade’s Spring 2012 Collection. I want this dress, with a desire that is reserved for dresses and dresses only. It’s the print that gets me. Those huge flowers, flowing and growing over the expanse of ruffles. It kills me.
It won’t look good on me, I’m pretty certain. Drop waists are really not meant for a girl with curves and I know from when I worked at kate that their dresses aren’t cut for gals who, how do I put this delicately, have more than a tea cup “up there”…
But that doesn’t keep me from swooning over it. (or the basket in that perfect lime green they always do)
Now, back to your regularly scheduled Fall programming…

Home. Technically I’m back home. But truthfully I get confused about what and where home is. Is it where your heart is? I feel like different parts of my heart resides in different places, so it can’t be so cut and dried. And it can’t be as simple as where I lay my head. Can it?
If we are talking about a place where I am surrounded by like minds and feel comforted, then Portland is home. If it is where I live with my husband, furry children and tend to my banana trees, then it is Miami.
Where would you end up if you clicked your heels three times á la Dorthy?
Photo: Me, trying on Elena shoes, at the Kate Spade in downtown Portland. Of course they didn’t have them in black, but pink is rather happy, no?

2. Coffee
(And she chooses coffee over wine. Kate, I’m with you…)
So nice to see Kate Spade out and about in the digital world. See what else floats her boat…

I was obsessed with these shoes back in 2006. Ob-sessed. Of course, in this exact color too. They sold out in my size and color of choice before I could bring them home. Been on the hunt ever since…
Oh kate spade, please bring the Party shoe back!!!!
(and oh, can we talk about the wallpaper? Delish!)

You know how shoes have names? Sometimes they are weird ones, like K-BR-125, Vonna, or Coco. Sometimes they are girl’s names, like Brennan, or Elizabeth or Cassie. But if you are really really lucky, sometimes someone puts out a shoe with your name! Even better if it’s a brand you like and a style you like…
Ladies and Gentlemen, please meet Elena. She is a red patent leather mary jane flat from kate spade. I would wear her with jeans and a cute top and call it a day.
Hi Elena. I’m Elena too. It’s nice to meet you.
