Oh ye of little faith…

I’ll admit, I was somewhat skeptical when I first saw Miu Miu’s new shoes.  The glitter I get (who doesn’t love glitter?!?) and the illusion part of these booties is beyond amazing, but those heels? That slight, almost awkward curve, it hit me in the right/wrong place.  It puts me on edge: I would look and look at photos online or in store and say, huh?

But look.  Really look at the shoes on the street.  HER FEET LOOK SO TINY!!!  The sillouette is perfection: your eyes follow the shoes down to the ground and it becomes the perfect optical illusion.

Fashion in motion - in use - is far superior to the most beautiful thing sitting perpetually in the box or on the shelf.

I doubted.  I’m sorry Miuccia.  Never again, I promise.

Chaussures de la semaine…

Last week I wrote about needing some sparkle, a visual lift.  This week, I was in a pinch - literally.  I wore new heels to work (gorgeous peep-toe cut-out oxford wedge in anthracite - oh my!) and didn’t bring a spare pair.  How silly can I be?  Pretty darn silly.

By the time I got in, my feet were hurting.  By mid morning, I was barefoot, running around back-of-house where no one could see me.  By lunch, I went shopping.

Steve Madden was the closest store and I hobbled on in.  After trying on a bevy of flat beauties, I decided on these.  No sparkles or spikes need apply, please.  It’s fall: I need cognac.

I wore them out and they turned my outfit upside down.  Yes, all black (black crops with a black/cream tribal print kimono top and a kate bib necklace) with the preppy cognac pop.

They have not left my feet and I plan on wearing them into the ground…

Chaussures de la semaine…

The shape is kind-of Stubbs and Wootten-ish, but this one’s obviously more of a wild child…

Chaussures de la semaine…

I am in love.  Miu Miu love. Wearing them with wide-legged trousers love.  Wearing them with a maxi dress love.  And if someone can somehow manage to wear them like Bianca Jagger, well then, I love you too.

Gift for me? Why thank you!

In the season of giving, I bought these oh-so-me chunky heels for a song.  Shameful, but true…
